Pre Light

The wrapper is a dark and oily shade of brown.  The cigar has a good in hand feel and feels well packed from head to foot.  The wrapper has a barnyard aroma with a slight pepper background.  I used a punch cut on this one and the draw was perfect with flavors of earth and sweetness.

1st Third

On the initial light up I got a hit off pepper with that dying off quickly and opening up with some cocoa and earth.  The smoke on this cigar is very thick and quickly fills the whole room.  The burn is straight and cool with no trouble.

2nd Third

Some woody flavors have introduced themselves in the second third.  The cigar is still burning relatively straight and the smoke is still going strong.

Final Third

The flavors on the final third are cocoa and wood with just a hint of pepper.  The cigar burned all the way down to the end with no touch ups or relights.  The strength kicked up a notch towards the end but wasn’t too overwhelming.

Overall

I enjoyed this cigar.  The cigar was flavorful and the construction was flawless.  Even with the strength kicking up in the final third it was very enjoyable.  I will have to stop by the shop and grab a few more of these to have in the humidor.
